1. President’s
Report
q Trooper explained the purpose of the meeting was to
update the members on the 03-04 budget and recruit volunteers for the following
open positions:
Treasurer no volunteers
Social Chair Rita Murphy
Official’s Chair Eric Young
Web Asst. Steve Mills
q Trooper also thanked the various members for their
time and talent. A lot of time and
energy is spent by numerous members working on projects/potential projects and
he wanted to express appreciation for their hard work and dedication to WAC.
q Explained the recruitment push for the Fall, 03
session. Frank Tambone has been
delivering flyers to all the local summer leagues. He asked those present to take and distribute the WAC tri-fold
brochure to their local swim team banquets which will be held in the very near
future. The more swimmers on role the
better we are financially.
2. Vice President’s
Report (Mark Knotts)
q Presented the comprehensive 03-04 budget proposal
and the need for the slight increase in session dues
q Opened up discussion with the membership on any
questions or concerns they may have
q Budget
was voted on and approved by all members in attendance
3. Coaches

Was pleased with WAC
swimmers participation in the various Champ meets.

WAC placed 6th
at JO’s

12 swimmers made Zone
cuts

Senior champs had
great success
q
5 graduating seniors
in the class of 2003 will be swimming in college

August 7th
– early new swimmer sign-up will be held at the Eastern State Pool, 7:30PM.
Bathhouse project (presented by Jim and Arch)
q
Size of the facility
70 feet L X 22 feet W with a center hallway.
Will connect to the bubble with an overhang of some sort. It will be masonry construction and have
separate areas for male/female swimmers.
The plan is for 6 showers, changing areas, toilets, sinks, benches and
hooks. Space will be provided for the
potential of lockers in the future.

Construction is set
to begin on or around September 1 with completion by mid November weather
permitting.
q
John Joyce is the
Eastern State contact and project manager.
q
Discussion on
facility utilities, maintenance, etc. – Who will be responsible? Costs should be shared by all users…. Will be fine-tuned in the upcoming months.
q
Received a round of
applause from members for all of their work/expertise on this project.
4.
Bingo Update (Mark Pittman)
q
There are 3
reimbursable slots for Bingo open at this time. It would require work once every 4 weeks with a $75/session
credit toward dues. Any interested
individuals please see Mark.
